Primary Purpose Summary

The Production Planner provides the production department with a work schedule and ensures that all the resources needed to complete the schedule are available, working with production departments, purchasing and logistics to monitor the progress.
Execute the production plan. Coordinate the scheduling of the production orders in close cooperation with Production. Ensure that the Aptar commitment to clients is respected in terms of Leadtime and quantity.
Ensure that Planning optimizes the production schedule for maximum efficiency, in order to reduce inventory and obsolescence.
Ensure that Leadtime confirmations to customer service are done in a timely manner.
Work with Sales and Customer Service to change priorities to satisfy urgent customer demands.    
Analyze and provide continuous improvement to the overall planning system to ensure maximum efficiency and leveraging of SAP.

Detailed Description:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 
    •    Production Planning
          o    Responsible for planning sales orders and confirming release dates to Customer Service Department
          o    Optimize production setup to minimize interruption in production runs
          o    Monitor backlog of products, provide scheduling alternatives and communicate upcoming delivery issues to Customer Service Department
          o    Initiate the production work orders based on the planned schedule
          o    Issue and release fabrication orders and batch records to support the production schedule.
          o    Ensure that materials are available for production as needed respecting FIFO principle.


•    Procurement 
          o    Analyze and respond to all MRP system exception reports and balance the supply schedule with the demand schedule
          o    Prepare and manage purchase orders to obtain raw material and subassemblies to support the production schedule
          o    Responsible for having materials available by required dates


•    Inventory
          o    Maintain inventory levels to company goals
          o    Set appropriate safety stock levels and re-order point through various analysis
          o    Monitor inventory accuracy and take corrective action if necessary
•    Continuously look for opportunities for improvements.
•    Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by Management.


Required Qualifications    

•    Education
      •    Desired Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Logistics or equivalent experience
•    Experience:
      •    Experience in Logistics Management, Material Planning, Procurement environment
      •    Knowledge of Supply Chain, Materials management, Inventory, Import/Export
      •    Operational experience a plus.

      •    Capacity to build relationships internally & externally
      •    Development of activities observing compliance with the guidelines relating to BPM and Occupational Health & Safety.
      •    Rigorous and detail-oriented
      •    Knowledge of sales concepts including order processing
      •    Strong knowledge of computer software such as SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, CRM
      •    Excellent communication and problem solving skills
