POSITION SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity in our Cary, IL location. This position is fully onsite. As an Engineering Intern you will focus on the design and development of dispensing systems for Beauty and Personal Care. We develop products by focusing on customers and consumers needs to bring winning ideas to market. Aptars’ customers include L’Oreal, Este Lauder, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and many of the largest consumer packaged goods marketers. The HOT consumer needs and trends we are focused on right now include recyclable and eCommerce dispensing systems.

Job Duties:
- Support new product development teams through project work involving qualification of new prototype and production equipment and systems
- Drive model sampling process leveraging our fleet of 3D printers
- Facilitate our NEW FastPlastics Molding technologies (plastic parts in days not weeks or months)
- Complete package testing with new dispensing system developments on various product lines
- Test and analyze results on new product components and performance and identify solutions
- Support Aptar’s Environmental Sustainability efforts through research and testing of alternative materials and methods
- Interact and support Project Managers with project documentation and team communication
- Develop DOE’s that validate new product designs
- Participate in the Aptar’s continuous improvement process using problem solving techniques
- Contribute to brainstorm and creative sessions for new products
Qualifications:
- College sophomore, junior or senior pursuing degree in Engineering or relevant field
- Self-motivated and confident, with the ability to take initiative
- High level of enthusiasm and sense of urgency
- Strong listening, comprehension, written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented and ability work independently with changing priorities and demanding deadlines
- Accomplished at ‘hands on work’ – fabricating models, tools, assembling and testing systems
- Works well in multi-functional team environment
- A commitment to quality, with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage many work streams simultaneously
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in academic, work and extracurricular arenas
- Strong experience with computers (especially MS Word, Excel, Project & Power Point )
- Ability to travel to interface with Aptar customers and other Aptar Personnel
- CAD design (optional)
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the starting hourly rate for this internship is $19.00/hour.
