What's new with Aptar
We have an exciting position open in Cary, IL:  Industrail Maintenance Reliability Technician (IMRT).  This position will be based in Cary and will be responsible achieving the highest level of reliability for plant manufacturing equipment through performing tasks required to maintain equipment in “Like New” condition and minimize downtime. 
 
This is how your journey begins

  • Executes the reliability and maintenance program to ensure efficiency, quality, and service at a top quartile performance.
  • Helps develop and lead a work management program that maximizes the efficiency of maintenance and technical personnel.
  • Utilize RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) practices to execute preventative and predictive tasks.
  • Conduct RCFA/FMEA (Root Cause Failure Analysis / Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to assist in the transformation of maintenance from reactive to proactive performance.
  • Implement and sustain maintenance processes including spare parts, CMMS/SAP, and TPM.
  • Follow and support the scheduling and planning functions working towards a 90% or greater “planned work vs. reactive work”.
  • Follow and develop site maintenance policies and practices related to employees.
  • Work closely and collaborate with Engineering, Tool Room, Tool Crib, Mechanics, Technicians, Scheduling and Planning, Finance, and Operations.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical components of high-speed production equipment. 
  • Repairs or rebuilds spare parts for production equipment.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements and spare parts.
  • Upgrades electrical and electronic controls on production equipment, including design, fabrication, installation, and programming.
  • Overhauls machinery to original operating condition and works with Engineering team in the design of new equipment.
  • Assists with the upgrades to current equipment.
  • Assembles, installs, and debugs machinery.
  • Supplies detailed purchasing requests for necessary repair parts and engineering projects.
  • Designs, builds, and/or supports test and training equipment for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic devices.
  • Writes operational and troubleshooting manuals for devices.
  • Develops training programs and training materials.
  • Assists with and/or administers training to existing production mechanics in all areas of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Uses maintenance management software and computer to define PM requirements for production.
  • Initializes and is involved with SMED events to increase machine efficiency.
  • Must be willing and able to be “on call” as needed.
  • May be required to travel for training or gain knowledge of different technologies to support maintenance reliability.
  • Involved with leading or supporting projects.
  • Documenting and record keeping of reliability maintenance data.
  • Use of SAP or equivalent to keep track of actions and inventory.
  • Communicates (orally and written) in a positive and effective manner with others. Able to listen and accept constructive criticism.

Education

  • Must possess high school diploma or GED.
  • Technical degree / certificate or military equivalent.

     

Experience

  • Must have working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems

     

Required Skills

  • Must be able to pass Aptar approved testing.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, blueprint drawings, PLC, RLL, and create PLC programs (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley).
  • Working robotic knowledge.
  • Must be able to use a DMM for electrical troubleshooting and potential energy verification.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout the shift, 1 to 2 times every 4 hours.  Lifts 30% and reaches above shoulder 20% of shift.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, crawl, and stoop continuously throughout the shift.  Bends ~30%; stands ~50% and walks ~50% of shift.
  • Must have good vision in order to perform visual inspection duties.
  • Must be able to hear warning signals and verbal alerts to avoid injury during manufacturing process.
  • Must have a good sense of smell to be able sense differences or issues with the machinery or area.
  • Must be able to work as a member of a team, have high energy level and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to discern shades of color and color differences relating to machine/electrical components used in the manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information relating to quality and production issues.
  • Must be willing and able to drive a forklift.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must possess basic PC skills.
