What's new with Aptar 

We have an exciting position open in Cary, ILOperational Excellence Coordinator.  This position will be based in Cary and will be responsible for: ensuring the systematic application of Lean/AOS tools and completion of assigned projects. Resources and support for the tools will come from the support of designated department managers lead by the OE Coordinator. The greatest opportunity for challenge and innovation will be effectively building lean culture, developing capability, and leading local resources to success through influence.  Directly reports to site OE Manager or Director of Manufacturing with a dotted line to the regional CI Director.

 

 

This is how your journey begins.

  • Train workforce on problem solving, AOS CI tools and other lean concepts.
  • Report and enter existing KPI’s into appropriate tracking systems.
  • Facilitate cross functional CI teams on total cost issues.
  • Identify, scope, prioritize and leverage opportunities.
  • Track QRQC/A3 progress, cost savings and other plant improvement actions.
  • Promote and communicate point kaizen activity internally and externally.
  • Assist shop floor CI teams via facilitation and documentation.
  • Coordinate preparation and planning for the site’s AOS Site Self Evaluation
  • Interface with other CI team members and leaders for external support
  • Assist in preparation of the site’s yearly cost savings and improvement plan.
  • Must be able to travel between facilities that are a part of the Campus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.  This position will have constant interaction with safety, quality, production, maintenance, and outside vendors.  Must possess the ability to speak and present to groups and communicate with all levels in the plant.  Capable of delivering results through a position of influence, not authority.

 

 

What you will bring on the journey

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

 

Experience & Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing (Internships accepted if applicable).
  • Exceptional Computer Skills/Proficiency:  MS Office Suite, Teams, Outlook, SAP, MS- Project and CAD
  • Six Sigma Certified (Black Belt preferred, minimum greenbelt (working towards Blackbelt).
  • Ability to lead a group team through influence with the support of a Coach.
  • Working knowledge of one or more Lean tools (i.e. 5S, Standard Work, Performance Management, Problem solving, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and can work from own initiative within broadly scoped position.
  • Knowledge of injection molding or assembly processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of packaging applications (closures, bottles, & tubes) preferred.
