Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Product Engineer is to provide support to existing product lines that sustain and grow Aptar’s business with the best quality products at the lowest possible cost.  The Product Engineer will manage product improvements, lead cost improvement/material change initiatives and collaborate with Operations, Quality and Product Development teams to accomplish this mission.


Primary Duities and Responsobilities

  • Redesign and enhance existing products to improve product performance or meet customer requirements
  • Lead and implement multiple projects simultaneously to drive cost savings, material changes and corrective actions utilizing project management systems and processes
  • Support new product developments by providing insights from product support experiences
  • Work with Molding, Assembly, Finance and Marketing to develop cost estimates for projects
  • Provide product governance by consulting and support to Operations/Quality during qualification of new cavity forming steel, capacity expansion molds, etc. to ensure product specifications are maintained.
  • Provide product expertise during root cause/corrective action analyses to address quality issues.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to create customer drawings and updates to production drawings




  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Package Engineering or related technical field
  • Other degrees considered with significant relevant experience


  • 2+ years of experience
  • Proven track record of leading projects that meet objectives and plans
  • Experience with consumer goods packaging, specifically dispensing pumps and/or spray technologies is preferred
  • Injection molding and high-speed assembly experience is preferred


  • Collaborative, team player capable of accepting inputs from multiple stakeholders and identifying creative solutions
  • Ability to independently lead projects and cross functional teams to meet business needs
  • Persuasive communication and organization skills, able to communicate effectively internally and externally
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to compile and analyze data to identify solutions to customer and quality issues.
  • Passionate self-starter with initiative to get things done.
  • Working knowledge of injection molding, high speed, automated assembly, decoration processes
  • CAD design skills are a plus
