What’s new with Aptar

We have an exciting position open for a Senior Financial Analyst, Sales Controlling. This position supports NA Sales Controlling Manager, FP&A, Commercial and Marketing leaders. The position is responsible for sales and financial analysis, management reports, detailed customer analysis, product quotation, leading 5-year plan and sales budget reporting and consolidation, monthly forecasting and analysis, presentations, profitability reporting, volume mix analysis, and sales KPI’s monitoring. 


This includes, but not limited to, customer quotations (cost modelling, pricing review, and review of contract terms), product sales reporting (actual versus plan/estimate), development and reporting of annual and quarterly forecasts, and ad-hoc forecasting and analysis. Analysis and reporting performed to ensure management has a timely and accurate understanding of the customer/product distribution and support activities on a per product basis. Expectation is to utilize current and expand system capabilities and continuously identify ways to improve accuracy and processes. 
 

 

This is how your journey begins:

 

  • Coordinate and lead annual transfer price review and price changes (cost+ and resale-) of components/raw materials and finish goods with customer service including updates of open orders. Work with Customer Service to implement transfer pricing changes by Q1 of the new year. Identify exceptions and action required for transfer pricing and profitability.
  • Lead and conduct monthly on time reporting and variance analysis by customer, product, and market field while maintaining a consistent internal reporting structure.
    •  Provide management with clear sales risks and opportunities to drive budget performance.
    • Develop and report volume and mix analysis for actuals vs budget and forecast.
    • Provide analysis and document reasons for variances on an ongoing basis between Budget, Forecast, and Actuals with the intention of identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, while proving input on “why.”
    • Complete monthly segment operational reporting according to the internal calendar.
  • Lead and consolidate sales portion of the 5-year plan, annual budgeting, quarterly and monthly forecasting process. 
    • Ensure that the plan, budget and forecast include all aspects of sales driver (i.e., tooling, rebates, impacts of indexation, etc.)  Outline risks and opportunities and actions. 
    • Complete segment sales reporting requirements (plan, budget, forecast, and actual) according to the calendar.
    • Support and participate in review of actuals, forecast and budget meetings with NA Beauty Leadership.
    • Ensure the impact of mix and volume changes are forecasted by compilation and review of product sales forecasts from the Sales and Regional Demand Planning teams.
    • Support sales controlling manager in developing streamline process between 5-year plan, budget, forecast, and actuals with the focus on full year.     
  • Drive weekly review of sales and orders compared to forecast.
  • Develop and issue monthly KPI’s that will drive performance to budget and V1 forecast accuracy.
  • Perform analysis of sales and cost data to support price adjustment opportunities to assist in the creation of pricing strategies with sales and marketing leaders. 
  • Drive decisions and actively seek changes in organization that are required based on financial analysis performed and understanding of the product distribution environment.  Ensure that all obstacles to efficiency improvements are raised to a level of awareness with site and functional management, and adequate substantiation is provided to support necessary changes.
  • Perform pricing analysis for new products, working closely with marketing team and product managers to develop pricing recommendations and strategies. Provide pricing/costing analysis based on historical, forecasting and marketing data. 
  • Utilize reports from core IT systems and provide analytical information in a timely and actionable format where required.  Support the ongoing implementation and upgrading of reporting capabilities both systematically and on an ad hoc basis, with focus on process and efficiency improvement.  This includes work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reporting. 

 

What you will bring on the journey

 

Education

  • Degree in Finance and/or Accounting, CPA preferred.

Experience

  • Cumulative of at least 5 years of finance experience with demonstrated breadth of experience throughout finance sub-functions including operational analysis/cost accounting, financial planning and analysis, and general accounting (GAAP):
    • 2-3 years of experience with marketing, sales, and/or financial forecasting, analysis and planning; inclusive of experience with establishing pricing and quotations and/or financial reporting.
    • 2-3 years of experience in a factory environment with in-depth knowledge / experience with standard costing.
  • Successful execution of Change Management in a fast-paced environment.

 

Skills

  • Ability to develop and deliver accurate and reliable financial information as assigned on a timely basis, using information obtained from multiple sources, including Excel, ERP, and discussions with Sales and Marketing contacts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Strong capability in Excel and ERP reporting systems (SAP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with GAAP reporting and accounting requirements.
  • Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
