Senior Financial Analyst, Capital and NPD

Location: Cary, IL or Mukwonago, IL

Reports to:  NA Finance Manager, NPD and Business Transformation

 

Job Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the coordination of all financial accounting processes related to capital and tooling, including all financial reporting matters and responsibility to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.  This individual also works closely with the NA Finance Manager and the North America Beauty and Home management team to support the New Product Development process cycle from ideation to product launch.  This position is responsible for working with the local sites to ensure the region meets all reporting requirements related to capital and tooling, including all closings and monthly accounting and reporting processes.  Position is also responsible to ensure compliance with all Aptar policies and procedures and to demonstrate personal knowledge and modeling of adherence to the Aptar Code of Conduct and ensuring this is driven throughout the Region. 

 

Job Elements & Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the capital expenditure process in the North America region, totalling $30-35 million annually.
  • Responsible for coordinating and presenting monthly capital, including cash spend and capital approval forecast.  Provide insights to business managers regarding the trajectory of capital spend and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Control corporate assets exceeding $100 million net book value including assets obtained from company acquisitions.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the regional product development teams, in supporting the Finance Manager, New Product Development.  Work closely with product development and other functions to track program execution and throughout the project.
  • Perform monthly closing and reporting tasks including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis related to capital and tooling.  Ensure month-end reported numbers are accurate, complete and timely submitted.
  • This position works very closely with operations and marketing in to ensure investment capital business cases are reviewed and approved on timely basis in accordance with the budget/forecast.   
  • Responsible for providing monthly, quarterly, and annual tooling forecast including reviewing tooling projects and ensuring timely completion.  
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Business and Finance groups to problem solve and provide analytics to maximize profits.
  • Lead monthly capital expenditure forecast and annual budget process, including presentations to various levels of the organization.
  • Prepare and support monthly pipeline product development meetings including conducting post mortem business case reviews.
  • Assist external auditors with requests related to capital and tooling, including property taxes and insurance.
  • Support Segment and Corporate requests, including special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in finance or accounting
  • At least 4 years finance / accounting experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to interact effectively at various levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP reporting and Sarbanes Oxley fulfilment
  • No travel requirements                       

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification is a plus (CPA)
  • Experience with SAP and BPC, knowledge of Plainsware is a plus
