Position Summary
The Financial Data Steward is responsible for managing financial master data in Aptar, including but not limited to GL Accounts, Profit Centers, Cost Centers, and House Banks, to ensure data is efficiently maintained, standardized and accurate. This includes the harmonization of global processes to reduce costs and share global knowledge. This enables global comparisons of business data, improved business reporting & decisions, greater process efficiency in financial departments, and reduced risk. All these tasks should enable and ease the implementation of automation in the future.
This position works closely with all Aptar sites to support governance of the financial master data. The role requires an understanding of how financial master data impacts end-to-end business processes such as record-to-report (R2R) and interprets requests coming from diverse organizations using independent judgment to make decisions on whether the requests follow policies, while considering what other processes and systems are impacted.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage global financial master data from creation through utilization. This includes formulation of policies, monitoring adherence, performing quality assurance, and enabling business process optimization
- Work closely with all levels of the organization to educate them on financial master data issues and opportunities, the impact on complex integrated business processes, and to establish quality metrics and targets
- Track and drive improvement of financial master data across the company and ensure the trustworthiness of global data for the defined business need
- Work with business representatives to set financial master data direction that contributes to the enabling of the corporate strategy of Aptar
- Support master data administrators and global users with questions and issues on financial master data topics
- Support internal/external audit requests related to House Banks
- Ensure integrity and correctness of financial master data in Aptar’s ERP systems
- Identify and drive continuous improvement by utilizing strong SAP and master data competencies and collaboration with other departments and teams in Aptar
- Support the Global Master Data Governance Team and cross-train with other team members to further enhance value to the organization
- Support future master data projects related to financial master data
Qualifications
- Education

- University degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, Scientific or Business-Operations related fields)
- or Minimum of 5 years industry experience

- SAP and/or data management experience
- Knowledge of Finance Data, Record to Report and Finance business processes
- Knowledge to leverage support from Shared Service and Information Systems Organizations
- Work Experience in a global team, a plus
