As Director Business Development you will be responsible for identifying new prospects, building relevant medical and business cases, prepare and negotiate proposals, and manage relationships with existing customers. This position, within the Business Development organization, is primarily focused on helping the continued growth of our Pharma line of business, by executing significant sales to pharmaceutical leaders in US and potentially Europe, in the core Aptar Digital Health therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, immunology, respiratory, CNS, etc.).

Aptar Digital Health is located in Boston, MA.  This role can be remote, preferably in the US Northeast.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and cultivate strong relationships with senior executives in customers and prospects to create new sales opportunities
  • Understand customer’s strategic objectives, clinical needs and business cases to develop adequate value propositions.
  • Develop commercial proposals in collaboration with project, technical, medical, and regulatory teams, with the support of pre-sales teams
  • Negotiate proposals and contracts with customers with the support of legal and finance teams
  • Close substantial sales and deliver upon key sales metrics by achieving revenue targets.
  • Gather market and competitive intelligence through customer interaction, key opinion leaders, regulatory bodies and other sources
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Aptar Digital Health’s products and services.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree required in Science and/or Business college degree, advanced degree or MBA preferred
  • Experience
    • 5-7 years’ experience in Business Development / Sales / Account Management functions Business to Business with pharmaceutical companies with C suite interactions experience
    • Strong experience in Life Science Industries (Pharma, Med Tech, Biotech) and ideally in-depth commercial understanding of digital health
    • Documented track-record in developing business in the Pharma sector with substantial contract values for complex products/services
      • Proven experience developing and negotiating complex sales and customer agreements
      • Experience in building strong cross-cultural relationship within a global organization
    • Skills
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals at all organizational levels including C-suite
      • Proven presentation skills to executive and technical level audiences educating and influencing decision makers.
      • Robust consultative selling skills to engage with customers
      • Lead complex technical and business discussions internally and externally influencing all stakeholders.
      • Strong existing network of pharmaceutical executives, purchasing, and packaging engineers preferred
      • Ability to work collaboratively with functions including Marketing, Project, Technical Medical and Regulatory Affairs.
