What You Will Do at Aptar Pharma:
The primary mission of the Metrology Engineer is responsible for the transfer and support of product functional testing methods at the Congers site. Tasks include method transfer qualification, supporting product quality investigations and troubleshooting test equipment. The Metrology Engineer works closely with the calibration department to ensure calibration status of the functional testing equipment is up to date and may also be called upon to support overall calibration activities. The Metrology Engineer is to carry out operational improvement projects for Conger’s site Metrology activity that includes alignment of practices with Global sites.
What Aptar Pharma Is Looking For:
- Lead functional method transfers and may be called upon to write new testing programs.
- Perform Functional testing requested to the Metrology lab.
- Support the Quality Department with function method investigation, training, improvements, and troubleshooting.
- Support process alignment programs to align with global sites.
- Support the Calibration Department with vendor management, operations related activities, and in house calibration.
- Generate appropriate documentation regarding calibration and validation (i.e. Procedures, Validation protocol and report).
- Support data integrity qualification activities to ensure metrology lab equipment compliance.
- Maintain strong communications with the Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Departments, and Customers to help resolve quality issues.
Support audits on metrology matters.
What you will bring on the journey
Education
-
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience
-
- 5+ years’ experience working in the field of metrology or an equivalent position in the medical device manufacturing industry with experience using Instron, and calibration tools.
- Working knowledge of MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) & SPC (Statistical Process Control).
- Working knowledge of plastic component manufacturing principles.
Skills
-
- Independent self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project.
- Experience writing protocols, analysis, and validation reports.
- Knowledge of Statistic software as well as with SharePoint and SAP.
- Knowledge of ISO, CFR 21 regulations.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to read technical drawing preferred.

Compensation and Base Annual Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is USD $88,000 to USD $119,000 annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
