What You Will Do at Aptar Pharma:

The primary mission of the Utilities & Process Technician is to operate, repair, and perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance for the facilities’ process and environmental systems.  Monitor facilities equipment for proper functioning and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.

 

What Aptar Pharma Is Looking For:

Tend to utilities & process equipment; serve as the first responder for the following plant systems –

  • Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC)
  • Chillers
  • High-Pressure Boilers
  • Compressed Air
  • Purified Water Generation
  • Mixing Skids
  • Cleanrooms
  • Maintenance Terminology & Principles
  • Pharmaceutical Terminology & Principles
  • Neptune Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • ETQ Reliance
  • Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Environmental Health & Safety Practices (EHS)
  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations
  • Computer Skills - CMMS, HMI, Word, Outlook
  • BMS/EMS SCADA
  • MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

What you will bring on the journey:
 

Experience

  • Associate degree, technical school certificate, or equivalent industrial experience
  • 3+ years in a maintenance/manufacturing environment

 

Skills

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision maintain proper documentation.
  • Ability to use written reference materials refers to the ability to locate, read, and comprehend text material such as handbooks, manuals, bulletins, directives, checklists, and route sheets.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with management, peers, project team members, and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate in writing refers to transmitting written information (e.g., equipment status, recommended repairs) to maintenance, operations, and other personnel.
  • Ability to communicate orally refers to receiving and transmitting oral information (such as equipment status, recommended repairs or modifications, parts usage, and technical procedures) to and from maintenance, production, and other departments.
  • Ability to follow instructions refers to the ability to comprehend and execute written and oral instructions such as work orders, checklists, route sheets, and verbal directions and instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot refers to good analytical and problem-solving skills,
    • Schematic Reading
    • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
    • Use technical drawings; the ability to read and comprehend technical materials such as diagrams, schematics, flowcharts, and blueprints.
    • Use of Instruments
      • VOM
      • AC Manifold Gauge Kit
  • Preventive Maintenance
    • Ability to detect patterns.
    • Ability to observe and analyze mechanical problems.
    • Monitor and log readings for critical equipment and processes.
    • Read meters, gauges, handheld instruments.
    • Read schematics and prints.
    • Use technical manuals.
  • Ability to recognize and abate safety hazards.
  • Willing to work from heights refers to the ability to perform safely and efficiently the duties of the position above floor level such as from ladders, catwalks, walkways, scaffolds, vertical lifts, and platforms.
  • Willing to work outside occasionally and on the roof top.
  • Ability to physical perform all essential job duties which will require regular standing, walking, bending, and dexterity.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 Pounds.
  • Observes Safety rules and policies, brings to management attention any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Ability to practice and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Willing to gown for the purpose of entering and working in cleanrooms.
  • Willing to interface with and handle vendors on occasion.

Compensation and Base Annual Pay
 

Aptar Pharma offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary or base hourly rate determined by many factors including the role, experience, knowledge, skill set and location. For those in eligible roles, discretionary incentive compensation which may be awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions. The typical hourly base rate range for the position of Utilities & Process Technician to the specific work location of: New York City metropolitan region is USD $25.40 to $34 per hour.  Additional details about total compensation and benefits are provided during the hiring process.
