<span 72="">Position Summary

<span 72="">The Manager/Senior Analyst, Technical Accounting is responsible for assisting in the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards, and ensuring the application of GAAP to complex transactions. This position will also be responsible for performing technical accounting research and writing accounting position memoranda over significant transactions. The successful person will be excited about the diversity of work and should also be willing to roll-up their sleeves and dive in to the details to solve problems. <span 72="">Job Elements & Position Responsibilities

<span 72="">This role will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & External Reporting and will have substantial interaction with other departments in the organization, including the Corporate Accounting & Reporting Department.

<span 72="">To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following:

  • <span 72="">Partner with business unit leaders on review of customer contracts, and perform initial conclusions of appropriate revenue recognition treatment
  • <span 72="">Support the adoption of new accounting standards
  • <span 72="">Research and provide guidance on the proper accounting and disclosure treatment related to complex or unusual transactions to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, including acquisitions and investment activities
  • <span 72="">Monitor changes in the accounting environment and proactively research and assess the impact of new accounting guidance on the company’s financial statements
  • <span 72="">Developing rapport with the Company’s business and finance community ensuring open lines of communication are maintained
  • <span 72="">Document accounting conclusions in formal memos and work with external auditors to support accounting positions and technical accounting issues
  • <span 72="">Participate in writing and training on global accounting policies and procedures, including facilitating a quarterly finance webinar
  • <span 72="">Responsible for the accounting around the Company’s pension – including quarterly financial statement disclosures
  • <span 72="">Responsible for goodwill impairment assessment including quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • <span 72="">Support special projects in the corporate accounting and reporting area
  • <span 72="">Assist with quarterly external reporting disclosures relating to goodwill, acquisitions and investment activity

 

 

<span 72="">Required Qualifications

<span 72="">To perform this job successfully, an ideal candidate should be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

<span 72="">Education/Experience:

  • <span 72="">Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • <span 72="">CPA required
  • <span 72="">4+ years of progressive accounting experience with technical accounting research responsibilities
  • <span 72="">4+ years of public accounting experience highly preferred

 

<span 72="">Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • <span 72="">Proficient technical accounting knowledge coupled with exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • <span 72="">Proficient knowledge in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
  • <span 72="">Strong research skills with the ability to apply relevant guidance and draft accounting memos to support conclusions, including related to complex and highly judgmental topics
  • <span 72="">Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures—in a SOX environment
  • <span 72="">Experience with the following systems is preferred: SAP & SAP BPC
  • <span 72="">Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships in an internationally diverse cultural environment
