What’s new with Aptar
We have an exciting position open: Project Engineer, Automation, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. This position provides engineering leadership and support to lead, drive, and manage all applicable engineering and technical aspects associated with Automation principles and technologies. These processes include the specification, development, ordering, qualification, installation, validation & production ramp-up of automated production cells that are designed for production and assembly of highquality Packaging Systems.
This is how your journey begins
- You will prioritize and complete engineering projects by the critical deadlines to ensure annually planned and strategic goals are met.
- You will conceive, develop, and carry out projects that will automate, improve quality, reduce operating costs, increase yield and reduce downtime.
- You will design new high-speed equipment and machinery as conceived to support the in-house needs of both production and process engineering.
- You will conceptualize, source, evaluate, qualify, test, and install purchased equipment.
- You will leverage Continuous Improvement mindset, tools and processes to modify and/or integrate existing equipment to improve efficiency and output in a manner consistent with the business needs.
- You will be responsible for introducing innovative new assembly technologies into the manufacturing process.
- You will test and debug automated manufacturing solutions.
- You will monitor and troubleshoot automated manufacturing systems.
- You will provide technical direction and training to the technician staff.
- You will have the ability to identify, design and implement new technologies.
What you will bring on the journey
- Education o 3+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience:
- 3- 7 years manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with high-speed assembly. o PLC Programming experience required o Experience with robotics, programing and logic o Reading and design of complex schematics o Experience with pneumatics, AC/DC motors o Variable frequency drives, Siemens PLC logic o Electrical wiring practices and troubleshooting
- Programming experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s as well as HMI o Develop and interpreting control system drawings
- Lead automation development or improvements from early phase to completion o Identify opportunities to improve processes or equipment
- Logic and programming languages knowledge o Tool room and machining knowledge o Mechanical aptitude
- Skills o Demonstrated problem resolution skills in manufacturing environments o Knowledge of FMEA, DOE, and Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma tools, a plus o Strong project management skills with experience leading a technical task force o Accomplished at need analysis, addressing issues and meeting deadlines o Strong interpersonal skills
