Position Summary
Performs audits and testing of procedures and products that are part of the manufacturing process. Assists sub-plant employees in troubleshooting quality issues. Responsible for product safety and quality.
Job Elements & Position Responsibilities
- Performs random audits on systems, procedures, and product
- Performs functional testing of product and measurements
- Performs other inspections and tests (incl. environmental, product, and process) as required
- Assists manufacturing employees and management with backtracking and troubleshoots quality-related issues that affect the quality of the product or customer requirements
- Participates in sub plant problem solving efforts and activities (CAPA, A3, 8D, etc)
- Performs Certificate of Analysis (COA) testing of finished product as required
- Approves COA and coordinates communication with customers
- Investigates complaints received and reports finding to the appropriate parties
- Performs backtracking on quality issues
- Updates and maintains procedure and defect manuals and acts as a document control coordinator
- Certifies the training of Assembly Technicians
- Assists with and provides training to Assembly Technicians
- Enters, closes and makes user decisions on Quality Notifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- Must possess High School diploma or GED
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assembly Technician
Skills
- Must possess basic math skills
- Must be able to sit for a majority (85%) of the shift
- Must be able to stand (20%) and walk (40%) for a portion of the shift
- Must be able to lift/move up to approximately 10 pounds (up to 30% of the shift), reach above shoulder (1% of the shift) and bend (2% of the shift). Must be able to periodically handle finished goods boxes weighing up to 35 lbs (2% of shift).
- Must be able to scoop component part weighing approximately 1 pound
- Must have the ability to thread tubing
- Must have good vision in order to perform visual inspection duties
- Must be able to hear warning signals and verbal alerts to avoid injury during manufacturing process
- Must be able to work as a member of a team, have high energy level and be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information relating to quality and production issues
- Must be able to discern shades of color and color differences relating to component parts used in the manufacturing process
- Must be able to climb steps
- Must be able to read various inspection gages
- Must have PC skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word and electronic mail software

- Enter data into computer as required
- Provides back up support to other areas in the absence of Quality Technicians
Non-Mandatory Job Qualifications (Not absolutely required, but enhance chance for success)
- ASQ Certifications (CQI, CQT, CQA).
