What’s new with Aptar

We have an exciting position open in Queretaro: Senior Accounting Analyst reports to Accounting Coordinator of Shared Services of Latin America.

This position is responsible for working with the Aptar entities to ensure that the region meets all reporting requirements in terms of time, quality, and accuracy, including closing processes on SAP, BPC, and the accounting reconciliation in Blackline system.

Responsible to ensure that all Aptar policies and procedures are accomplished besides of adhering to Aptar's Code of Conduct.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all records, systems, controls and reports in the area are permanently updated, available and reconciled with accounting.
  • Ensure that accounting processes comply with Aptar's Accounting Policies and Procedures.
  • Share suggestions for improvements and assist in the implementation of new processes in the area.
  • Make sure that all manual journal entries have proper support documentation and obtain approvals whenever they are required;
  • Perform control of the releases of Fixed Assets (additions, write-offs, transfers).
  • Perform updating, maintenance of all Lease contracts that fall under the US GAAP standard in the lease system.
  • Record, control and make accounting entries and reports in accordance with US GAAP accounting principles and conventions.
  • Respond to diverse demands of internal and external, providing proper documentation, attending meetings and supporting actions of related matters.
  • Perform the accounting reconciliations with the analytical composition of the accounts with proper support documentation and comments in the Blackline system.
  • Resolve issues that may arise on Balance Sheet accounting accounts by assigning accountable departments and escalating problems whenever it is found necessary.
  • Perform analysis of variances on Balance Sheet (Flux Analysis) and provide information and clarifications in a timely manner when requested.
  • Participate in projects and improvement programs that may have impacts in accounting.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships to enable better process efficiencies and timely problem solving.
  • Cooperate and put efforts to achieve the goals individually and collective within accounting department.
  • Accomplish all health and safety policies established by Aptar.
  • Participate in the Life Quality programs offered by the company.

Internal controls, SOX:

  • Maintain the compliance with specific controls, e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, write-offs, etc.
  • Assist in the implementation of improvements in finance processes, eliminating rework and manual efforts.
  • Keep consistency and put efforts to harmonize the common processes in all entities within the Region.

 

Policies and procedures:

  • Communicate to the supervisor about the need to update policies, procedures and process references.
  • Fully accomplish all policies and procedures of the SSC in Latam.

 

 

Competencies and skills

  • Minimum experience of 5 years, including 2-3 years of experience in accounting or corporate auditing within medium or large multinational manufacturing companies.
  • Complete degree in Accounting.
  • Knowledge and experience in USGAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Computer skills, Office package (word, excel and power point).
  • Experience in the use and / or implementation of ERP systems (SAP and BPC).
  • Audit attendance.
  • Excellent communication skills internally and externally with customers
  • Previous experience in Shared Services Center (SSC) will be considered a differential for the vacancy.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
