Aptar is seeking a Product Qualification Engineer based in Freyung and an expert in providing cross-market support of product qualifications for assigned projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Industrialization Engineers and Site Quality/Ops to assess new product performance against defined customer requirements and ensure product launch success.

 

The Product Qualification Engineer is able to identify potential causes for product performance issues and probe deeper in the data and analysis to make recommendations to the team to help arrive at a solution. This person will primarily focus on the Validation aspects of Quality by Design (QbD) but should have a good understanding of AQP (Advanced Quality Planning) as well in order to assist when workload & priorities require.

 

Good communication and collaboration with other departments and customers to ensure the spread of a quality mindset. The individual is viewed as an expert in their field of work.

 

As a Product Qualification Engineer , You Will

  • Leading the creation of Validation Plans along with ensuring robust Measurement Systems/techniques provide reliable data. Able to define testing requirements for new product features and troubleshooting product performance issues.
  • Ensuring products are designed with adherence to legal and safety standards.
  • Planning, execution and documentation of all product and process qualification steps.
  • Designing product specifications based on AQP outputs.
  • Ensure execution of qualification/validation (market/customer) is properly fulfilled.
  • Define quality system (measurements, performance tests) to be carried out during the industrialization to meet requirements of the product development project.
  • Skillset includes ability to support early phase Quality by Design deliverables such as VOC, Design FMEA and Process FMEA.
  • Improve existing and develop new test methods aligned with customer requirements, also with other external test laboratories.
  • Remains current on latest industry Metrology & Testing equipment and methods. Able to make recommendations to leadership that improve accuracy and efficiency of data collection.
  • Transfer of quality system and ensure good implementation in the receiving site.
  • Ensures Quality tools are available, and system is implemented in first industrial production.
  • Close cooperation with the Market-based team members for successful implementation of the defined project portfolio.

 

 

Who We Are Looking For

Expert in providing cross-market support of product qualifications for assigned projects

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Plastics, Mechanical or technical area of expertise).

 

Experience

  • Experience in Product Engineering and/or Quality environment.
  • History of overseeing successful product launches currently in commercial production and in consumer use. Technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in Six Sigma Methodology
  • Understanding of quality control systems
  • Knowledge of SPC, metrology, lean manufacturing

 

Required Skills / Competencies

  • Communicative and convincing personality with drive and determination
  • Willingness to take over responsibility
  • Mediation skills, assertiveness and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated oral and written/technical document creation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Fluent in English.

 

Recommended Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of injection molding, automation, robotics, and/or inspection equipment and processes for the manufacturing of consumer-packaged goods products preferred.
