Global Energy Manager, OE EHS

Location:  Remote (NA or EMEA preferred)

Position Summary



Represent and lead operational activities to the implementation of global energy strategy throughout regions to drive energy conservation measures for industrial processes and buildings, implementation of clean technology and enable decarbonization of energy sources. Coordinate energy improvement initiatives and ensure the deployment of energy assessment program for the regions. Ensure that energy management requirements and that energy efficiency initiatives are implemented, monitored, and developed within all sites in a region/segment(s). Support, coordinate and drive the site-level energy manager and representatives in implementing defined initiatives and transformation towards a global approach. Contribute to the elaboration and implementation of the global energy pillar strategy, aligned with the corporate strategy and support its execution.


The Global Energy Manager also plays the role as BPC. The Business Process Champion (BPC), supports the implementation of new/changed business processes, provides on-going support to other Business Process Management (BPM) communities, drives process continuous improvements, supports companywide initiatives and engages the organization towards digitization and energy monitoring system. The BPC supports the BPO in defining optimized business processes and collaborates with the IS organization in order to improve the existing technical and/or process landscape.


Job Elements & Position Responsibilities



  • Ensure global energy pillars strategy is cascaded into all sites within the regions; Support all sites in a region to implement energy conservation measures, energy assessment program, energy monitoring system.
  • Coordinate site energy manager representatives and support them in reaching measurable targets; Assist sites with energy reporting and recordkeeping, proactively addressing energy performance indicators (EnPI) with monitoring system to preventative energy conservation measures for processes and buildings.
  • Determine the required ISO certifications (Energy Management System – ISO 50001) for the regions and help sites achieve the requirements.
  • Provide technical training energy related and support for clean technologies implementation
  • Ensure communication is effective and timely; that energy and Greenhouse Gases reporting is made according to Aptar policy and that information is shared with business leaders, OE EHS Regional Leaders, and sites.
  • Support site-level energy audits, track findings through to closure and ensure corrective actions are in place to ensure energy Conservation measures and energy performance optimization.
  • Identify best available techniques that can be shared and implemented within or with other regions.
  • Collect and share identified energy conservation measures and decarbonization trends.
  • Facilitate standardization of energy reporting; Contribute to the development and implementation of Aptar’s Global Energy Management System and corresponding global, regional and site-level Strategies.
  • Guide and drive harmonized energy Data and EnPI driven systems, supported by the Business Process Management (BPM) Community activities and synchronized with the IS organization and BPM Lead, providing transparency of performance for each site in the achievement of set energy targets
  • Remain aware of the energy regulatory landscape, alerting Aptar corporate and affected sites to changing regulations before they happen.
  • Collaborate with other OE functions and key stakeholders to create and support internal and external networking.
  • For Business Process Champion (BPD) role:
    • Collect, preselect, propose and prioritize business requirements and ideas from the Business Process Experts (BPE) community, identify opportunities for improvements and discuss with the BPOs and other BPCs as required to define next steps.
    • Coordinate the BPE community per business domain and ensure business and system processes are implemented as defined
    • Be the link between the BPE community and the IS Competency Center community.
    • Support to create, update and release User Requirement Specifications (URS) with the inclusion of mapped business processes and submit change requests in agreement with the BPO


Required Qualifications



        Education and/or Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required in relevant area: Energy Engineer
  • Technical courses on Energy Management System ISO 50001 and energy facilities management
  • At least 2 years of focused energy management experience on full-time basis
