Sales Manager

Position Summary


The primary purpose of the Sales Manager position is planning and implementing sales growth initiatives, targeting assigned top accounts, and providing strategic and sustainable profitable results.  These duties are performed personally and through assigned direct report sales team members.  This role is also responsible for leading, coaching, and mentoring team members to obtain sales growth results in respective assigned areas.  This is a developmental leadership role and a successful candidate must be comfortable executing with a player-coach operating style.  Individual will have both direct customer account responsibilities as well as managerial oversight of one or more direct reports.

  2. Effective leadership within sales team to grow direct reports to next career success level aligning with business needs.  This includes ongoing support, communication and accountability for results achieved.                                           
  3. Develop, implement, and execute overall sales strategies to acquire profitable growth.                                                   
  4. Lead role in key high level negotiations, including planning, delivery, implementation, and complex problem solving to find profitable solutions.                                                                                                                                           
  5. Expert subject matter knowledge to develop and sell full range of technical capabilities of Aptar products. 
  6. Provide timely and effective key internal Aptar interface leadership to drive cross collaboration for business results.               
  7. Ownership of financial results related to sales growth and profitability in assigned areas, including expense and forecasting management to budget expectations.                                                                                                                           
  8. Responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives to proactively align with business challenges and expectations, including 80/20 strategies involving customer and product portfolio optimization.                                                    
  9. Meets with key customers, supporting account representatives while maintaining and/or growing relationships, negotiations, and closing deals that align with Aptar expectations.                                                                        
  10. Solutions provider for complex account and staffing challenges, providing creative problem solving techniques that align with business strategies, talent strategies, and company Core Values.                                                                                                                                  

Required Qualifications


  • College or University Degree
  • Preferred:  MBA or comparable degree



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in working directly with regional and/or global accounts
  • Proven track record of closing complex commercial agreements                                                            
  • Experience working with C4C or similar CRM                technologies                                       



  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding and growth driver of assigned products knowledge and related technologies
  • Strong account management and relationship building skills.                                                                                                  
  • Highly self-motivated and driver of results, organized, and complex problem solver                                          
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage people aligning with their strengths, aspirations, capabilities and business needs
  • Ability to represent Aptar, brand image and value proposal.
