Trade Compliance Specialist

Location:  Remote in NA or EMEA

Reports to: Senior Tax Manager, Global Trade Compliance

 

Opening Date:  March 9, 2021                    Closing Date:  March 23, 2021

 

Position Summary

 

 

Responsible for ensuring internal and external trade compliance processes, policies, and requirements are followed for all Aptar locations, including collection of data and calculation of origin of our products.  Will assist local site personnel with determination of proper HS code and resolution of local customs issues. Will assist with special projects and day to day operations.

 

Job Elements & Position Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations to determine country or origin and prepare documents as needed or as requested by customers
  • Support product HTS classification. Assist local site personnel in determining optimal codes.
  • Oversee collection and maintenance of documents and data to support compliance with government agencies and international trade regulations.
  • Assist local site personnel with customs issues relating to the clearance of merchandise.
  • Support supply chain teams to address queries from customs departments, draft responses where necessary, and ensure minimization of risk.
  • Assist in internal and external audits of trade compliance program, policies and procedures.
  • Monitor performance and risks of global trade compliance operations.in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Perform monthly analysis of broker, customs, and internal data to ensure maximum cost savings in Free Trade Agreements, Free Trade Zones where applicable, and other duty exemptions.
  • Assist in management of customs brokers including measuring service-level agreement (SLA) adherence,, managing power of attorney requests and database, and compiling and managing compliance scorecards.

 

Required Qualifications

 

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area
  • 3-5 years work experience in supply chain or compliance, preferably with Big Four or  Multinational Corporation
  • Strong excel skills
  • SAP experience a plus
