What You Will Do at Aptar Pharma:

Our highly skilled and hands-on Technicians operate injection-molding equipment in order to successfully meet customer demands and quality standards. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize your mechanical skills to install, remove and adjust Injection Molding machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot Injection Molding machines, robotic programs and  follow process to resolve failures
  • Perform set-up of molds for all mold changes, equipment set-up and start-up of injection molding machines, operate all molding machines and mold quality parts to customer specifications and standards
  • Assist in preventative maintenance and repair of molding machines, molds and peripherals (robots)
  • Keep Injection Molding machines and auxiliary equipment running in a safe, productive, quality-the-first-time, and efficient manner
  • Perform cleaning and general maintenance tasks
  • Observe and maintain a safe work environment following Company’s safety, ISO standards and bringing to the attention of Management unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Achieve adequate production levels while maintaining the expected product quality
  • Ensure molded components meet all product quality criteria including dimensional criteria
  • Communicate to supervisor and other technicians and document all technical information and issues
  • Participate in reducing the rate of scrap
  • Assists in training of employees in proper work methods for safe and efficient performance of job duties.
  • Maintains records, files and other documentation pertinent to assignments.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
  • Set up and start up ability on injection mold machines.
  • Certified in mold tech development program a plus.
  • Arburg and Krauss Maffei experience a plus.

 

What Aptar Pharma Is Looking For:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical skills.
  • Previous  history working on injection molding machines including machine adjustment, troubleshooting, mold installation and removal
  • Ability to implement and tune all peripherals (6 axis robot, grinder), 6/3 robotics and robotic set up
  • General knowledge of plastic materials and processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints
  • Excellent organizational skills and capable of multi-tasking
  • Maintain communication with supporting departments as required
  • Excellent work ethic and history of being dependable
  • Effective computer skills, documentation, reporting, file management and web skills
  • Ability to work different work shifts
  • Continuous improvement mindset. Self-Learner, trend of continuous learning
  • Ability to work and operate machinery in a Clean Room Environment.
  • Ability to continuously practice and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Physically capable of the required work including but not limited to: Extensive use of manual dexterity, ability to grip, firmly hold, turn and practice strong hand coordination in order to troubleshoot, service and repair industrial equipment and use hand tools to perform the same. Ability to continuously stand, walk, bend to perform the essential job duties. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Compensation and Base Annual Pay

Aptar Pharma offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary or base hourly rate determined by many factors including the role, experience, knowledge, skill set and location. For those in eligible roles, discretionary incentive compensation which may be awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions.

 

The typical base pay hourly range for the position of Injection Molding Technician to the specific work location of: New York City metropolitan region is USD $32.00 to $49.00 per hour.  Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process.
