JOB SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Intern will be a student seeking hands‑on experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role provides exposure to injection molding, high‑speed assembly, and cross‑functional problem‑solving. The intern will support efforts to address systemic issues, drive Lean initiatives, and contribute to meaningful improvement projects while gaining practical manufacturing experience.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct root cause analysis on systemic issues and identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Support Lean and Continuous Improvement activities, including 5S, Kaizen events, waste reduction efforts, and standard work improvements.
  • Design and implement solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing scrap, and enhancing process stability.
  • Lead or support projects involving process changes, repairs, maintenance improvements, or updates to procedures (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, One‑Point Lessons).
  • Collect, analyze, and present data related to performance, quality, and operational issues across the facility using Lean tools. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Creative and analytical approach to problem‑solving.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate a concrete manufacturing floor for extended periods (up to 8 hours).

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to effectively use AI tools to support analysis, documentation, and problem‑solving activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, tracking, and reporting.
