Regional Market Development Manager – North America Food + Beverage

Location: Lincolnton*

Position will start as full-time remote, then transition to partial remote

Position Reports To: Regional Market Development Director, North America Food



Primary Purpose Summary                                                                                                  

The primary mission of the Market Development Manager is to drive growth for the North America Food segment.  The Market Dev. Mngr. reporting to the RMD Director will develop insights into key marketing strategies and actions for assigned product lines and projects to guide new product and business case development and value creation  to enhance the customer and consumer experience across all Marketing touch points. Defend the Food Segment market leadership position by focusing on Portfolio Management of stock product offers including Pricing strategy, Line extensions, Capacity planning and Rationalization leading cross Functional work teams to accomplish. Coordination of post Product Development activities including launch, sales tools, training material development supporting the Sell-in process Supporting the F+B Segment focus on core Application Field development gathering & reporting competitive intelligence, market trends and new product launches in the marketplace.  Working with NA Sales team on Customer presentations and trade activities. This unique opportunity gains perspective and exposure to both the Food Segment development. Special projects as defined.


Duties / Key Responsibilities                                                                                                

  • Develop Product Line strategies for assigned product lines in North America, encompassing total product life cycle viewpoint. Develop & drive recommendations for capacity management, product rationalization, cost optimization and product line enhancements to drive growth and profitability.
  • Drive business growth, working closely with the Regional Sales Team to generate sales of our products and technologies to maximize profits. Develop quotes and pricing strategy related to new business opportunities for stock products within assigned projects and product lines and for assigned customers.
  • Member of the Regional Market Development team for new product
  • introductions developing pricing, launch plans, marketing communications as well as coordinated rationalization working with the Region cross functional teams
  • Working with the Sales Team and leveraging Marketing Insights, identify and recommend stock product and line extension development.  Initiate needed product line capacity expansion within Market encompassing line enhancements reflecting market/consumer demands as well as operational financial needs. 
  • Leverages the Stage Gate process to drive New Product Development projects and the build business case, working in collaboration with Regional Development Team.   Projects to include ideation and business case development through product validation and market acceptance.  Provide positioning and pricing strategy to Sales.
  • Act as the SME AMIT, C4C in the RMD team. Providing monthly/ quarterly analysis and reporting.
  • Expert at secondary research identifying valid sources, reports, technical journals to drive market analysis, sizing, understanding of key dynamics. Informs the buildup of the business case for Product Development, new markets and/or new application fields.  Provides regular reporting on market dynamics, competitive insights and trends.
  • Acts as a liaison to the Global CMI team ensuring alignment of corporate communication initiatives, adherence to brand guidelines and utilization of website, social media and other tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications                                           

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business management, required.  MBA preferred but not required.  Packaging Engineering degree also a consideration.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Marketing, Portfolio Management, Product Development and/or a Marketing Analytics role with experience in a B2B environment desired.  Sales experience a plus.
  • Experience in the Food & Beverage, Packaging, FMCG, Food Retail or Foodservice industry.
  • Project management experience required; ability to drive projects in varying stages simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Fluent in MS Office suite of tools; Excel, PowerPoint, Word; Collaboration tools – Teams
  • Prior sales experience a plus; not required

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills; with the ability to craft a compelling presentation from insights; ability to translate data into visual tools
  • Experience working in a highly matrix environment; building partnerships and maintaining lines of communication across teams and functional groups.
