Primary Purpose Summary

Our fast-growing, technologically-driven manufacturing firm is seeking an SAP Operator. This position is to provide assistance to Lincolnton’s Manufacturing/Operational processes and systems. The SAP operator manages material flow on the equipment, monitors operation, makes operating adjustments (as required) and verifies/reconciles production reporting for scrap and material variance. This position must participate and adhere to all applicable plant certifications including but not limited to, ISO 9001:2000, SQF and BRC.

 

Detailed Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and adhere to all system procedures and company policies / procedures
  • Monitoring the machine operations to see that the finished products and components are aptly matching with the quality and quantity constraints of the company
  • Maintaining a report of the total measure of goods manufactured per day
  • Reconciliation of materials and scrap for production orders
  • Ability to read activity schedule for scheduled color changes, conversions and set-ups
  • Ability to create labels for production needs correctly and in sequence
  • Read production orders for product requirements (including BOM) and verify box/tote and pallet labels match product/batch
  • When necessary, operate emergency stops on closing machines, grinders, auxiliary equipment and understand lock out/tag out procedure
  • Ability to run machines adequately for the relief of Operator for breaks, and/or rest
  • Act as stand in for shift manager when needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work one on one with a trainer to ensure understanding and abilities
  • Willing to cover on off shifts as needed

 

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • College degree is a plus

 

Experience:

  • Expert Level Operator
  • Must have an understanding of and be able to operate closing machines, liner machines and valve machines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Committed to safety, quality, and communication
  • Team-oriented and self-directed
  • Ability to distinguish color and pass the EnChroma test for the color blind
  • Knowledge of warehouse/production systems, such as SAP, Mobisys and MES for key metric awareness/analysis

  • Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, and standards
  • Knowledge of packaging applications (closures, bottles, & tubes)
  • Knowledge of the Food and Beverage industry preferred

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.42 per hour
