Aptar is seeking a Buyer based in Midland, Michigan. This position purchases materials, supplies, and services for the organization to guarantee availability and delivery of materials against agreed terms. Oversees material inventory levels to ensure adequate availability for manufacturing needs. Responsible for managing the vendor base in support of all site-level purchasing activities, ensuring those activities are in alignment with corporate purchasing objectives.

As a Buyer, You Will

• Prepare and manage purchase orders to obtain raw materials to support the production schedule having materials available by required dates.
• Develop material forecasts and provide to key suppliers.
• Maintain inventory levels according to company goals by continuous monitoring, taking corrective and preventive actions as needed.
• Support vendor RFQ, qualification and performance monitoring activities as required by the business.
• Purchase indirect goods and services, according to order requests from internal users, to guarantee deliveries on time and to agreed terms.
• Involvement in project teams to launch new products and processes with support from our vendor base.
• Maintain purchasing master data in SAP as required to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in the business S&OP cycle, identifying & resolving supply risks and opportunities in the medium and long term.
• Other duties as assigned by Management. 

Who We are Looking For

Education

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required. Prior Supply Chain experience is a plus.

Required Skills

• Experience: 
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills leveraging data and analysis where appropriate.
• Confident and professional in all dealings, both internal and external to AptarGroup.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and proactively address challenges in an efficient and timely manner. 
• Strong computer skills, including the use of the Microsoft Office package and SAP.
