The Mission

The Manufacturing Engineer Plans and designs manufacturing processes, equipment, and industrial services in a facility focused on injection molding, automation and secondary finishing operations.  Maximizes efficiency by analyzing equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification

This is how your journey begins

  • You will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly and/or secondary operations methods, and quality control standards.   
  • You will actively participate with design staff, mold shop, and other appropriate personnel concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods (including safety processes and ergonomics). 
  • You will when required, implement / lead projects dealing with changes, repair, maintenance, or improvement of existing molds and secondary tooling.
  • You will lead and manage internal and external approval of new tooling and materials.
  • You will evaluate and recommend equipment maintenance procedures and maintenance intervals.
  • You will confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. 
  • You will  confer with Management, Engineering, and other departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to ensure effectiveness.    
  • You will drive future automation and vjsion inspection in a high volume produciton facility.    


What you will bring on the journey

  • Education: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 7  years Mechanical Engineering experience
    • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience with CAD
    • Automation and vision systems experience desired
    • Experience working with Vision detection cameras/systems a plus
    • Six Sigma Black Belt certification a plus
  • Skills
    • Capability and interest to work in a manufacturing setting to solve problems and  improve manufacturing processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving techniques
    • Demonstrated ability to apply Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce non-value added activities.
    • Capability and interest to work in a molding facility to solve problems and improve processes.
