The Measurement Technician is a Quality Assurance position that provides inspection & testing, analysis, and reporting to support manufacturing and engineering, including analyses, assistance in the resolution of problems and handling non-conforming products.

 

Job Duties:

  • Participates in identifying, investigating, and processing Corrective/Preventive Actions, Customer Complaints, product Non-Conformance, Deviations and Returned Goods Authorizations.
  • Supports the implementation of process specifications, statistical process controls, computerized data systems, test cells, including equipment, training and procedure support. All in the lab or on the shop floor.
  • Must be willing to participate on Continuous Improvement teams, become trained as Lead Auditor, conduct audits of the operation, issue corrective actions, follow up on completion and effectiveness of actions and issue reports relating thereto.
  • Support other QA associates on defect awareness, inspection methods and specifications requirements.
  • Act as a leader for the shift.
  • Inspect, Measure, and Test small silicone/plastic parts using vision systems, mechanical inspection devices, coordinate measurement machines, or other testing equipment
  • Plan, program, and inspect tooling on coordinate measuring machine (Zeiss-Calypso)
  • Analyze inspection results
  • Write comprehensive, professional reports in a logical and coherent manner
  • Inspect and Measure incoming parts and materials as needed
  • Review blueprint designs, to the extent of ensuring key product features are measurable and able to achieve capability requirements
  • Manage inspection & test equipment/device calibration system
  • Create and follow up Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for out-of-calibration devices and out-of-specification products

Required Background:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent preferred

Required Skills:

  • Computer data entry and editing skills including the ability to learn and use applicable departmental software packages.
  • Knowledge of basic GD&T principles.
  • Ability to create and run CMM programs.
  • Ability to use caliper, micrometer, lift gage, optical comparator, and similar metrology equipment.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Must possess strong mathematical skills .
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office software and Windows Operating system.
  • Must have good visual acuity and the ability to detect visual defects under a microscope.
  • Knowledge and ability to program and operate measurement devices such as coordinate measuring machines (preferably Zeiss/Calypso), vision systems, and other complex inspection equipment
