2nd Shift Position

The Process Technician is responsible for the setup, adjustments and troubleshooting of injection molding machines as well as the preparation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of materials and related production needs in order to facilitate production deadlines while adhering to related ISO requirements (9001:2015 standard).

Primary duties & responsibilities:

  • Setup, adjust, and troubleshooting operations of all injection molding machines and secondary equipment.  Setups to include mechanical hookups as well as water, hydraulics, electric hookups and tooling.
  • Deep understanding of each piece of equipment, and the corresponding effects of adjustments.
  • Understanding how all steps of the process relate to each other “if this, than that”.
  • Changing and mixing materials and perform color changes
  • Communicate status of the process to operators, QA, other Process Technicians, or Production Supervisor
  • Assist Process Operators with equipment and material needs.
  • Responsible for process documentation per ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Be familiar with and operate secondary equipment, making routine repairs and maintenance as needed and directed by CTL or designee.
  • Perform daily housekeeping to maintain consistently clean and safe working environment within production area.
  • Ability to run a shift efficiently when alone.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills, development and training courses.
  • Prompt and reliable Attendance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education
    • High School diploma or GED
    • AIM (American Injection Molding Institute) training desirable
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years molding experience and knowledge of plastic/silicone and related processes
    • Knowledge of how an injection molding machine works
    • Understand and have good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.
  • Preferred Experience
    • Over 5 years of work experience and knowledge of plastic or silicone processing. 
    • Experience with basic machine repair and maintenance
  • Skills
    • Ability to work in a deadline and fast pace environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
    • Willing to work on all shifts and overtime as required.
    • Must possess the ability to frequently lift 50 to 100 pounds, occasionally lift over 100 pounds with frequent bending and twisting.
    • Candidate must also possess an excellent work ethic and demonstrated teamwork attitude.
    • Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
