Primary Purpose

Maintains systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising staff.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

The Maintenance Supervisor directs activities of personnel engaged in the troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including machinery, automation, and facility in order to attain goals consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

  • Accomplishes maintenance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Establishes preventive maintenance schedules, and insures completion of activities in a timely manner.
  • Directs daily department activities in order to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs.
  • Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
  • Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Evaluates functionality and reliability of production equipment and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
  • Maintains function and reliability of production equipment and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  • Improves function and reliability of production equipment and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
  • Support the Engineering area on new product introduction, material testing and packaging validation.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education
    • BS/AS in applied Science preferred Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics
  • Experience and Skills
    • Working Knowledge of Plastic Injection Molding machines and auxiliary equipment
    • Highly skilled in Automated Controls and Robotics
    • Familiar with HMI equipment and accessories
    • 3-5 Years’ experience in a supervisor role supervising multi-craft workers
    • Ability to coach, and lead
    • Ability to train and advance skill sets of team
    • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office knowledge.
    • Ability to engage in root cause problem solving.
    • Effective communications skills.
    • Ability to direct staff.
    • Organizational skills.
