Lead the molding room production team to achieve industry excellence in safety, quality, efficiency and service through performance management, rigorous problem solving, and a people first mindset. The Molding Room Production Manager will transform operating performance to maximize machine efficiency.


Job Elements


  • Create the culture and behaviors that deliver and sustain zero injuries. Implement safety programs and processes that prioritize safety throughout all aspects of the molding room and act with urgency.
  • Systematize a relentless problem solving approach to meet or exceed all operational targets for the molding room including quality, scrap, shrink and efficiency; daily accountability for shift supervisors, molding machines, and production
  • Motivate and engage people through strategic vision, role clarity, coaching/feedback cycles, action oriented culture, and clear two way communication
  • Model and drive an attitude and mindset of operational excellence and continuous improvement across the whole team; champion key processes and techniques, e.g. performance management, self-directed work teams, and asset reliability
  • Build team’s capabilities in order to create a sustainable talent pipeline for leadership and technical skills
  • Oversees adherence to the quality plan for all parts manufactured in the molding room.
  • Manages all Molding Room functions
  • Maintains the required staffing levels and the necessary training for each in accordance with all personnel policies.
  • Provides direction to the work force in executing the schedule as worked out with Production Control.
  • Works with the Toolroom in establishing priorities for mold repairs and maintenance.
  • Works with Maintenance on the scheduling of PM and Maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for formulating and keeping within the operating budget.
  • Coordinates with other departments to expedite the correction of any irregularities to the achievement of Company goals.
  • Co-champion of continuous improvement process
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years’ experience in injection molding with a strong technical background as well as supervisory experience.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement processes, including structured problem solving (e.g., RCA, CAPA).
  • A motivational leader and excellent communicator at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in “Lean” concepts and tools
  • Computer skills: SAP, Excel.

  • Chasing down paperwork issues.
  • Working with outside vendors.
  • Working all different shifts to keep in touch with employees.
  • Scheduling seminars and training for employees.
  • Specific molding machine functions (training).
  • Occasionally work on production floor with employees.
  • Planning company sponsored events

Non-Mandatory Job Qualifications (Not absolutely required, but enhance chance for success)


  • Six Sigma training
  • Working knowledge of scientific molding principles
