Main Function:

Set up, operate and monitor the machines, to ensure that all production and quality targets are achieved. Carry out changeovers and repairs ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum. Always work in a safe and responsible manner.  Carry out fault finding and trouble shooting of the equipment and the process.

Main Duties:

• Receive instructions from the Shift Supervisor and the Production Planner on the correct order sequence and any changes to the schedule.
• Receive handover report from previous team.
• Carry out job changes and assist the Maintenance department in tool changes. When restarting the machinery, follow the relevant procedures as detailed in the work instructions.
• View the closure production continuously and carry out QC checks as detailed in the Gulf Closures quality plan and sign the paperwork. Monitor the status of the closure storage bins on first platform.
• Ensure raw material supplies are sufficient.
• Filling raw material in the silo or direct to the machine.
• At the beginning and/or end of the shift, ensure that all the required paperwork is correctly completed as per the work instructions.
• Repair breakdowns as quickly as possible so that downtime is kept to a minimum and obtain help from the supervisor or maintenance department, when necessary. All breakdowns and stoppages are to be recorded in the downtime sheet.

• Carry out machine or material trials as required and record all parameters on the correct sheet
• Assist in maintaining the machinery based on the Gulf Closures maintenance plan.
• Ensure the machine and the work area is kept clean and tidy as well as free from spills at all times.
• Regrind the defective product.
• Work in a manner which is safe to you and your workmates at all times and report any safety hazards or violations immediately
• Ensure all parts withdrawn from the stores are correctly recorded and signed for on the MID note.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as and when necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Qualifications:

• Minimum to have a mechanical Diploma or equivalent experience.
