Position Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring assigned production equipment to ensure that production, quality, and safety targets are consistently achieved. The role includes carrying out changeovers, minor repairs, fault finding, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime, while following approved work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures. The Production Operator works collaboratively within the team, maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
3. Quality Control and Compliance
- Perform quality checks in accordance with Quality Control Plans and work instructions.
- Ensure all QM-Hub quality data completed accurately and signed as required.
- Monitor product handling, closure production, and storage bins to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Identify quality deviations, defects, or trends and report them immediately to the Shift supervisor.
- Support trials for machines, materials, or processes and accurately record all parameters on the designated documentation.
- Regrind defective products in line with approved procedures and monitor the regrind process.
4. Downtime, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance Support
- Carry out fault finding, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to minimize downtime.
- Actively manage and reduce micro‑stoppages during production where possible.
- Report all machine breakdowns, stoppages, and abnormalities accurately in the MES system.
- Escalate issues promptly to the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance when required.
- Assist the Maintenance department during tool changes and planned maintenance activities.
- Support routine machine maintenance activities in line with the weekly maintenance plan.
5. Materials Handling and Inventory Control
- Ensure raw materials are available, sufficient, and correctly fed to the machine or silo as required.
- Accurately declare material consumption and finished product output using approved hardware and software systems.
- Ensure all parts withdrawn from Stores are properly recorded and signed on MID notes.
- Maintain material traceability and ensure proper handling of raw materials, regrind, and finished goods.
6. MES, Data Accuracy, and Reporting
- Accurately enter and maintain production, downtime, quality, and material data in the MES system.
- Ensure all required MES data is correctly uploaded at the beginning and end of the shift, as per work instructions.
- Ensure all breakdowns, stoppages, and production events are correctly recorded in the system.
7. Teamwork, Communication, and Training
- Work cooperatively as part of the production team, supporting colleagues to achieve shift targets.
- Maintain effective working relationships with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores teams.
- Receive and give accurate shift handovers to ensure continuity of production.
- Follow instructions from the Shift Supervisor and Production Supervisor regarding job priorities and schedule changes.
- Report all machine, quality, or production issues to the Shift Supervisor as the first point of contact.
- Support training, mentoring, and development of new and existing employees.
- Assist and train other operators on the use of tablets and production reporting systems.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working across different production areas when required by the business.
8. General Responsibilities
- Be willing to work additional duties or hours as required to support continuous production.
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, audits, and improvement initiatives.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Production Department.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma in engineering Mechanical, Electrical, etc..
