Position Summary
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse and production areas. This position ensures timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods to designated locations, supports inventory management, and maintains compliance with all safety and operational standards. The role may also include performing routine equipment checks and reporting maintenance needs. The Forklift Operator will report to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and organize all aspects of warehousing, Finished goods delivery and RMS to ensure that the department performs in an efficient manner.
- Communicate with warehouse supervisor and ensure that the goods received verification for quantity and the condition of those goods are as per our purchase order issued to the supplier and that the supplier provides the receiving document.
- Ensure all GRN’s are prepared with in the time limit.
- Monitor day to day receiving and delivery procedure of finished goods.
- Ensure that FIFO of Raw materials/Packing/FG etc are maintained.
- Supervise Issue of raw materials to the Production department in accordance with the production schedule available on the Scheduler.
- Supervise the arrangement of stocking/staging the finished goods and Raw material stock with proper identification/Labels etc
- Coordinate day to day warehouse related jobs to the others with warehouse supervisor.
- Coordinate arrangements for the transportation of finished goods on a timely manner as per schedule.
- Communicate with the warehouse manager regarding warehouse related day to day issues if required
- Documentation for delivery in the absence of warehouse supervisor or as and when required.
- Supervise the physical count of inventory and at the end of the month with the help of warehouse Supervisor and other team members.
- Prepare monthly closing/monthly reports and submit to Finance department on time.
- Coordinate the timely removal of scrap
- Assist the supply chain manager in any job desired by him in connection with the warehouse as and when required.
- Ensure the safe and the good condition of the mobile equipment.
Preferred or Mandatory:
- Valid forklift operator license/certification (internal/external).
- Strong understanding of safe forklift operation, load handling, and warehouse traffic management.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse logistics, inventory systems, and material flow.
- Familiarity with occupational safety standards (e.g., PPE usage, hazard awareness, emergency procedures).
- Ability to conduct routine equipment checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Awareness of ISO certification standards related to warehouse operations and documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Broad, general background in warehouse operations, material handling, and equipment usage.
- Familiarity with supporting systems including pallet racking, loading docks, and warehouse safety controls.
- Additional schooling and training may be required (e.g., refresher safety courses, advanced forklift techniques).
- Related education and/or experience equivalent to two to three years of warehouse or logistics training plus one to three years of practical work experience.
