Materials Scientist

The primary mission is to advance the research and development of new materials and associated technologies, support innovation projects, and collaborate globally to implement material solutions within Aptar.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Scout and test new materials and technologies until the Proof of Concept stage, Propose new solutions for potential applications for Aptar
2. Be the Materials Expert for Aptar Asia and the key contact person between Global Material Community and Asia Innovation Hub
3. Provide support to Aptar’s R&D and PD Team, or other teams’ activities based on demand
4. Manage in-house and external lab testing for specific material studies
5. Assess processability of new materials and provide recommendations for operations
6. Contribute to the development of an internal and external Material Science Network
7. Build cross-segment and global relationships within the Aptar Material Community
8. Lead collaborations with academic and research partners in Materials Science and related technologies

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD degree in Material Science or a related field, with a focus on Polymer Materials.
• Materials and associated technologies knowledge
• 1 or 2 years of work experience or significant project experience gained through an internship or university program.

 Skills/Abilities

• Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting with strong presentation skills.
• Excellent English proficiency; French is a plus.
• Willingness to travel and/or long stay aboard during the first year as a part of the onboarding program
