Manager, Mold

Primary Purpose Summary

This position is expected to lead mold development to ensure the mold quality, cost and lead time to be delivered with the demands from Project Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

- Lead mold development based on the requirement of the project manager.

- Lead the technical discussion during DFM and Mold design review.

- Follow up the mold/inserts manufacturing in desired cost and schedule.

- Analysis of mold issues, providing solutions for complex problems

- Technical support for Design Engineer, PM and Sales.

- Estimate the cost and lead-time of new mold and inserts.

- New mold development management:

     (1) Prepare mold specifications/ECN for new molds.

     (2) Mold project related information archiving and transfer to production.

     (3) Supervise and manage mold vendors to make sure qualified mold delivery.

- Support operation team on existing mold optimization projects if needed.

- Be consultant for mold refurbishment projects led by the operation team.

- Support training and mold development department management.

- Other tasks assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor' s degree or above, major in mold tech or mechanical engineering related field.

- At least 8+ years' mold design and project management experience in injection mold.

- At least 12+ years working experience in the injection mold (PP/PE) industry.

- Rich experience in mold technology and troubleshooting; ability to identify mold machining process, quality control and molding process availability.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Be familiar with MS office and CAD software.

- Good English skill in oral and written.

- Good knowledge of high cavitation and precision mold.

- Good knowledge of closure, pump and other packaging mold is mandatory.
