Primary Purpose Summary
This position is expected to support GMD project team on global mold and automation development from China vendors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Support: Assist the GMD project team in new product development and project launches.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate effective communication between global teams and local vendors in China to ensure alignment and smooth collaboration.
- Equipment Specification & Procurement: Identify and define equipment requirements for manufacturing processes. Collaborate with local vendors to obtain quotations and coordinate with purchasing and other internal/external stakeholders.
- Equipment Qualification: Conduct comprehensive equipment qualification at both vendor sites (for transfer release decisions) and final installation sites to ensure compliance with all technical and operational requirements.
- Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate resources within the project team
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of equipment specifications, qualification procedures, and safety protocols.
- Product Line Transfers: Oversee the transfer of new product lines from overseas Aptar plants to local facilities.
- Problem Solving & Knowledge Sharing: Apply strong problem-solving skills and effectively communicate resolution strategies with global teams.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for production and engineering teams, particularly regarding warranty issues related to locally sourced equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure seamless integration and operation of new equipment and processes.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by GMD project managers.
Required Qualifications
- BS Mechanic or other Engineering in science.
- Fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Understanding technical differences and Cultures in different regions is preferred
- Team player with proven ability to influence across a matrix environment. Ability to develop relationships across all levels of the multinational organization, as well as externally.
- Ability to take responsibility and own performance by setting goals, seeking feedback and taking actions to develop a team.
- Minimum 5 years injection molding or relative industry experience.
- Minimum 3 years as project manager.
- Demonstrated professional level of mold and or automation development
- Teamwork.
