Job Description

As a member of the Tax team, you will provide critical taxation support to the Aptar China entities in the areas of tax compliance, tax accounting, tax advisory and planning. A key requirement is to ensure the timely compliance with both internal as well as external taxation reporting requirements.

 

This position performs all tax compliance and closing activities for the AptarGroup entities in China, to ensure timely compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. The successful candidate is also expected to provide support on tax process optimization, taxation risk control, planning & mitigation as well as ad-hoc taxation related projects as they arise.

 

Key Responsibilities 

The role is primarily responsible for but not limited to:

  • Preparation of the income tax return including liaison with external tax consultants to facilitate their review and lodgement.
  • Preparation of periodic tax calculations and accounting entries, including but not limited to VAT, surcharges, income tax, stamp duty, property tax, withholding tax, proofs for deferred tax balances and tax provisions, etc.
  • Preparation and processing of monthly/quarterly/annual tax filings and other statutory reporting obligations for the Aptar China entities
  • Preparation of on-going monthly and annual VAT refunds, export filing and associated reconciliation
  • Lead and handling of tax affairs relating to outbound non-trade payments.
  • Assistance in Transfer Pricing policy implementation and as well as preparation of local Transfer Pricing documentation
  • Provision of support in relation to internal as well as external audits and tax inspection.
  • Liaison with the taxation bureau and authorities to manage tax related issues such as help in tax inquiries or inspection, as well as reporting on tax related subject matters.
  • Provision of support as required to the Tax Manager and Global Head of Tax to research, analyse and provide recommendations in relation to taxation risks and prevention.

  • Assisting with regular updates to tax policies, procedures and associated process maps to ensure that the tax governance framework is maintained, accurate, efficient and continuously improved.
  • Provision of support as required to the Global Head of Tax and China Tax Manager on ad-hoc products and assignments as directed

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree major in Finance, Accounting or Tax
  • Preferably possess CPA or CTA
  •  

     

    Experience and Capabilities

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working for a mid-large tier accounting firm and/or a large corporate (preferable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting standards, Chinese taxation and awareness of international taxation principles
  • Understand the key components of the management and statutory reporting processes as well as tax compliance processes in China
  • Basic understanding of risk management frameworks
  • Ability to operate an integrated accounting system effectivity and efficiently (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to work autonomously and also be a collaborative team player
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel and basic MS Office skills
  • Ability to identify business processes, systems and reporting improvements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure team goals and objective are met
